Mark PalferyStudio 1 is owned and managed by Mark Palfery, a national level bodybuilder with an extensive background in personal training and martial arts.

Mark has always loved fitness and spent 10 years competing as a kick boxer and running a freestyle martial arts clubs in and around Hampshire. Like most guys mark always had an active interest in weight training and as his career in martial arts drew to a close he ended up moving more into bodybuilding and competitions which saw him winning the Novice south Britain in 1996, placing top 3 two years in a row in Mr. East Britain and after a break of 12 years from competition made a comeback to win the 2009 Masters class at the South Britain, qualifying for the British title in October. 2010 saw him win the Muscle talk championships in Bedford and then in October placed a slightly disappointing 11th at the Mr. Britain but you can win them all.

Mark has trained several national and international level female competitors (physique & Body-fitness) and has a wealth of experience in prepping female athletes as well as the guys. At Studio1 we are available for 1-1 personal at all levels and to meet specific training requirements as well as providing detailed dietary and nutritional advice. Recently qualified fitness instructor  but with a wealth of practical experience Joshua spent his work experience at Results Gym staying on after to run circuit classes and general gym instruction then for the last 3 years he has managed studio1. Working at Studio1 has enabled him to pursue his real passion which is training with free weights. Having always been interested in sports at school age Joshua competed as a district level swimmer, spent 8 years playing football before he became interested in martial arts and weight training. Joshua is a competent kick boxer and is adept at training people at all levels on the punch bag and focus mitts.

Keys areas of expertise include:

  • Kickboxing experience, confident taking people on the pads and teaching basic punching technique.
  • 5 years weight training experience and qualified gym instructor
  • Teaching circuit classes
  • Good knowledge of diet and supplement advice
  • Reps level 2 qualified+ first aid qualified
  • Currently studying REPS level 3 advanced personal training qualification
